The Leduc Arts Foundry is always looking for passionate, enthusiastic, and loyal volunteers to help us bring the arts to life in our community. COMMITTEE VOLUNTEERS

Special Events Subcommittee

We are seeking 1-2 members to join our special events subcommittee. The role of this subcommittee is to plan and execute special events at the facility, as well as our annual Leduc Art Walk, which takes place off-site on Main Street, Leduc.

Personal attributes: strong organizational and communication skills are required. A positive and enthusiastic attitude is a must! Members should be able to work both independently and collaboratively within a team, and experience in planning and executing events is an asset. This subcommittee collaborates with the Marketing & Advertising Committee, Social Media & Website Subcommittee, Volunteer Committee, and Programming Committee.

Time commitment: attend committee meetings (2-4 hours per month; 6-8 hours per month in May and June leading up to Art Walk). Members will also be expected to use some personal time to follow up on delegated tasks (2-6 hours per month, distributed among the committee).


Policies & Bylaw Committee

We are seeking 1-2 members to join our Policies & Bylaw Committee. The role of this committee is to write policies and procedures, review and recommend amendments of bylaws, and follow existing templates of relative policies and bylaws.

Personal attributes: ability to work independently. Strong written communication and grammar skills are a must. Experience with creating and writing policies and procedures is an asset. Experiences with other boards is also an asset.

Time commitment: attend committee meetings (2-4 hours per month), in addition to independent completion of tasks (such as policy & bylaw writing).


Programming Committee

We are seeking 2-3 members to join our Programming Committee. The role of this committee is to manage the schedule and programming for the space (including special event bookings and rentals), as well as proactively research and pursue future programming opportunities. This committee is also responsible for gallery curatorial duties, which would include pursuing, developing, confirming, and presenting exhibition concepts. The committee will liase with instructors, students, and gallery artists, distribute contracts for space use, and manage registrations for classes.

Personal attributes: Ability to work both collaboratively and independently. Willing to take an initiative on pursuing new programming opportunities. Strong organizational and communication skills. Outgoing personality. Ability to manage scheduling, contracts, instructors, and tenants. Group and/or organizational programming and/or scheduling is an asset. Experience or background in education is an asset.

Time commitment: attend committee meetings (2-4 hours monthly), in addition to independent completion of tasks (such as checking website for registration numbers and pursuing programming leads).


Membership & Volunteers Committee

We are seeking 1-2 members to join our Membership & Volunteer Committee. The role of this committee is to recruit, organize, and schedule volunteers for ongoing open positions in the facility, and for special events. This committee also manages membership registrations and concerns, working closely with the Programming Committee. The committee will report monthly on membership numbers and other significant statistics.

Personal attributes: strong organizational and communication skills. Background in administration, scheduling, and/or education would be an asset.

Time commitment: attend committee meetings (2-4 hours monthly), in addition to independent completion of tasks (such as processing membership purchases and recruiting volunteers).


Grants & Fundraising Committee

We are seeking 1-2 members to join our Grants & Fundraising committee. The role of this committee is to research and pursue appropriate grant, fundraising, and sponsorship opportunities. Applicants should be willing to network and build relationships with local community business owners and stakeholders.

Personal attributes: willing to take initiative, willing to communicate with a wide variety of people. Existing relationships with local businesses is an asset. Experience in research and writing grants is an asset.

Time commitment: attend committee meetings (2-4 hours per month), in addition to independent completion of tasks (such as grant writing).
