About the Artists

Doris Charest and Karen Blanchet maintain independent practices, enjoying many of the same benefits from common memberships in local art venues. Both delight in an insatiable appetite for the latest shiny new material and the adventure of finding ways to incorporate it into their regular work.

As founding members of Devenir (2016), a collective of five women artists, and DDK (2019), a smaller trio, Doris and Karen have continually embraced collaboration alongside their individual practices. Their journey led them to join the International Society of Experimental Artists as “Duo” in 2023 — a natural progression that has proven both inspiring and rewarding.

Always learning, always experimenting, Doris and Karen continue to pursue collaboration and independent exploration, promising many years of inventive, boundary-pushing work.
